Before starting the work it is recommended to pull the printed fabric on the wooden frame with the help of pins. While working it is recommended to use a rectangular hoop. If the hoop is too big, you may increase the fabric by tacking the additional strips along the edges.

It is better to use a nylon or cotton thread (white or beige) and stitch with a single thread. To attach the thread onto the fabric, one should avoid big knots. It is better to attach the thread on the right side of the fabric making 2 or 3 little stitches in one place, which will be later covered with beads.

Backstitch. You have to use only one bead for each stitch. The advantage of this is that you can vary the distance between the beads. If you were stitching tightly, then you will have an unbroken line of stitches. If there is space between the beads then it is a dotted line.

Spin-off technique. Among the variety of “Butterfly®” kits there are pictures, designed in a circular embroidery technique. You should start with the spiral, increasing the circle step by step, until it reaches the edge of the picture. Further you embroider with half-bent rows, filling the whole space with beads. Using the backstitch is very convenient with spin-off technique. Half-bent rows can also be embroidered with “arched” stitch.
